The SAT is a multiple-choice, computer-based test created and administered by the College Board. It consists of two sections:

  1. Reading and Writing
  2. Math

Duration

You have 64 minutes to complete the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes to complete the Math section for a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Scoring

Each section is scored on a 200 to 800 point scale. Your total SAT score is the sum of your section scores. The highest possible SAT score is 1600.

Modules

Each section is divided into two equal modules. There is a 10-minute break time between the two sections. The first module of each section contains a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Based on how you perform in the first module, the second module of questions will either be more difficult or less difficult.
